The stepping-stone text for students with a preliminary knowledge of organic chemistry looking to move into organic synthesis research and graduate-level courseworkOrganic synthesis is an advanced but important field of organic chemistry, however resource.
Good!!!.
This book is targeted at graduate students or industrial chemists who are interested in retrosynthetic analysis. The exposition clear and well organized and starts with a review of undergraduate topics, such as functional groups, before moving on to synthesis planning.
I thought I knew a bit about Organic Chemistry but this went way over my head. This would be great for the advanced student going in that direction but not for the curious dabbler.
